Catie + Jacob's Earthy, Organic Backyard Wedding

JACOBCATIE-297.jpg

Catie's and Jacob's backyard wedding was the epitome of organic whimsy. From the wild florals to the moody color palette and gold details, their day was truly perfect. The Proposal Story: "Jacob first told me he loved me in Vancouver several years ago. It’s our favorite city. We travel to Victoria BC every year for work and we often try to get to Vancouver. Last year when we were in Victoria, he surprised me with a weekend in Vancouver. We flew over on one of those little harbor planes that lands on the water. The next day, we went for a hike in Stanley Park, this huge park in the city full of old growth forests. He waited until he found the perfect spot and proposed. We hiked to a little cafe in the park and drank champagne in front of the fireplace."

What was your favorite part of the planning process? "Working with the florists and the caterer! I love food and flowers and had so much fun sharing my vision for both."

Do you have a tip for any couples currently planning their wedding? "Find a wedding planner whose energy feels right to you. Trust your instincts. Don’t sweat the details too much. I barely noticed the details on the day of. I was so happy to be surrounded by family and friends and to be marrying my best friend!"

A Whimsical Woodland Wedding

gavinwedding170.jpg

Kelly + Tim's story began with a long-distance relationship. With 95 miles between them, the couple spent a year traveling to see one another until finally, Tim asked Kelly to marry him while vacationing in a rustic treehouse (in the dead of winter). Cleveland.com featured their story on its website - you can read it here. After Tim popped the question, we were thrilled to be invited to plan their woodland wedding.

The beauty of the outdoors was infused into every detail of Kelly + Tim's wedding at The Grand Barn at the Mohicans. From the fresh florals, to the soft candlelight, and the long tables full of loved ones, it was the perfect day to culminate a beautiful relationship.

Eclectic, Earthy Ohio Barn Wedding

BrandonMarissa-wedding-0329.jpg

Marissa + Brandon's October wedding at The Grand Barn at the Mohicans was utter perfection. Brandon proposed to Marissa overlooking Emerald Bay in Lake Tahoe, so it's no surprise that when it came time to plan their wedding, they included earthy accents paired with fun and eclectic details. They served booze-filled donuts, care of Brewnuts, and cut a simple white cake, made by Faithful Little Cupcake.

After the vows were said, the cake was cut, and they danced the night away, Marissa remarked that the most memorable part of the day was "having all of our family and friends together celebrating with us. The food was amazing, the donuts were amazing, and everything ran so smoothly we didn't have to worry about a thing."

September Wedding at Cherry Basket Farm

Last week Maddy and Chris's wedding was featured on Artfully Wed! We were thrilled to pack our bags and head off to Northport, Michigan for Maddy and Chris' wedding at Cherry Basket Farm! Cherry Basket Farm is a restored 120-year-old farm located just north of the historic village of Omena in Leelanau County, Michigan. This rustic venue is surrounded by hardwoods, cherry orchards, and farmland.

Maddy and Chris' wedding ceremony, which was designed and coordinated by Oak & Honey Events, took place on the upper level of the venue's two-story, timber-framed barn, while cocktail hour took place downstairs, and dinner under the tent. Their guests then headed up upstairs to join the couple for dancing and desserts!

The venue's rustic vibe paired well with the couple's bohemian style. Elbowgrease Design provided gorgeous macrame chandeliers for the event, in addition to an ombre macrame escort sign by Baci Designer. The color palette consisted of blush, marsala, sand, and espresso, in addition to the greenery that was incorporated throughout the design. These photos from Maiko Media perfectly captured the beauty of this event!

September Wedding at the Inn at Honey Run

We are thrilled to be able to share Crystal and Jeff's wedding after being featured on Bridal Musing! The Oak & Honey Events team was thrilled to head back out to Millersburg, Ohio for Crystal and Jeff's wedding at the Inn at Honey Run last September! The couple rented out the whole property, utilizing The Grove for their ceremony, the Treetop Pavilion for cocktail hour and dancing, and the Tarragon Room for dinner. Their design concept was completely unique, featuring romantic details with lots of copper accents and pops of marsala. This palette was complemented by shades of blush, eucalyptus, as well as soft peach.

In addition to the greenery in the decor, there were also a handful of green aspects throughout the wedding. Fair Rarity Flowers sourced all the flowers provided locally, which were then donated to a local assisted living facility after the wedding. The Inn at Honey Run's Tarragon menu also features many local ingredients from area farmers.

We just can't get enough of these beautiful photos captured by Suzuran Photography!

October Wedding at Club Walden

Beth and Justin couldn't have picked a more perfect fall day to celebrate the biggest day of their lives! The scenery of the day pair perfectly with their color palette of sage green, wine, navy, gray, pale blush, and gold. Oak & Honey Events helped bring the couples' vision to life, creating a soft and organic vibe with the decor mixed with a few modern touches. Beth and Justin held their ceremony at the Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus, then celebrated with their family and friends at the place where it all started - Club Walden, where they first met!

October Wedding at Crown Point Ecology Center

Amy and Mike's wedding took place at Crown Point Ecology Center in Bath, Ohio. Their ceremony was held outside on the lawn, just past the venue's historic barn. The couple said their "I do's" in front of a rustic wooden arbor, adorned with single-stemmed flowers inside assorted glass bottles. Their color palette boasted shades of fall, including burnt orange, sand, goldenrod, and navy. Oak & Honey Events assisted with the design and coordination of the event. Amy and Mike also chose to include a handful of accents from Germany, where they currently live, including German Schnapps and German chocolate for their guests to enjoy! After dancing the night away, guests headed outside to enjoy a surprise, late-night snack from Swensons!

Summer K Photography was on site to capture every beautiful moment from the day, and also got some great shots of the flowers provided by Branch and Bloom, which were all locally sourced.hoffmann-colorsamymike015amymike016amymike003amymike035amymike036amymike022amymike042amymike023amymike045amymike026amymike028amymike029amymike041amymike011amymike030vision-board
