Melanie Tindell

Owner + Event Planner

I founded Oak + Honey Event Planning Co., because I have a passion for planning weddings that are meaningful to my couples and their families, and that touch the hearts of everyone in attendance. I married my high school sweetheart after 12 years of dating and wholeheartedly believe in celebrating love!

As a planner, I spend my days taking care of the many logistics that will ensure your event runs seamlessly, and as a designer I'm always working on creative details that will speak to your personal style. I'm passionate about using color, texture, patterns, and locally sourced materials to create an event design aesthetic inspired by you and your love story.

I believe in the power of well designed spaces, perfect color palettes, and event atmospheres that foster the kinds of memories you will cherish for years to come.

Oak + Honey's commitment to planning environmentally friendly events comes from my deep love of the outdoors. When I'm not working with clients, you'll find me exploring Ohio and hiking Cuyahoga Valley National Park with my husband, our sons Finn and Ryder, and our pup, Lola.

I feel incredibly fortunate to work with such wonderful couples every day and I look forward to working with you too!

Melissa Kress

Senior Event Planner

It was the details that mattered most to me when gearing up for my 2015 wedding. In Melanie, she found her day-of event coordinator and also a friend.

I loved how Melanie truly listened to our wants and needs throughout the planning process. I have a background in event planning and I enjoyed that planning process more than I had anticipated and joined the Oak + Honey team.

I have my Master's degree in counseling, and I feel like my degree helps me connect with my clients in creating their special, personalized events. I truly enjoy getting to know clients and their priorities in an effort of making the planning process stress free and enjoyable. I choose to work as meticulously as I did with her own wedding, paying diligent attention to the small, often overlooked details and creating a relationship with vendors to guarantee a seamless event.

My love of the outdoors runs deep. When I'm not planning sustainable events, you can find me one with nature. I spend my off days relaxing and enjoying my three young kids Max (7), Jake (5), and Claire (2).

I am so grateful to work with such amazing people and I am looking forward to assisting you in planning your big day.

Amy Burke

Senior Event Planner

Born and raised in NE Ohio, I spent my 20s in Washington DC where the world of events found me while working at a national Museum. Let’s just say, I have some stories! But my knack for the details and event logistics is where I truly shine. 

After moving back to Ohio, I started my own boutique wedding and event planning company and had the chance to serve some incredible couples and families through their planning journeys. 

In 2022, when Melanie, the owner of Oak + Honey, approached me about joining the O+H team, I couldn’t say no. Surrounding myself with incredible planners who have a passion for what they do all while serving couples who are looking for a wedding day experience that is uniquely them, has me more excited than ever. 

I'm here to serve couples who are excited to be married (the wedding is icing on the cake), cannot wait to throw a party and want their guests to look back and say "Oh, I wish so-and-so got married everyday."  

When I am not planning weddings and events these days, I enjoy experiencing the world through my almost 5 year old son's eye, trying out yummy restaurants with my husband of 9 years and prepping for the arrival of baby boy #2, expected Fall of 2022.
