ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PLANNING
A green wedding is one that is eco-friendly and conscious of the consumption of resources that would otherwise be used in the wedding. The average wedding produces 400 lbs of garbage and 63 tons of CO2.This can include flowers, paper (invitations), textiles (dress, suits), gas emissions (transportation), and everything else that can occur from the wedding. Together, American weddings are equivalent to 8.3 million cars driving on the road for a year. (Source: Green Bride)
Planning an Environmentally Friendly wedding does not mean your wedding needs to be Zero Waste event. You can add touches that are environmentally friendly like locally sourced florals, a vendor who gives back to the community, or other design details. We can help you locate green or Do-Gooder vendors for your invitations, venue, caterer, floral, photography, and more.
A sustainable planner does all the things a normal planner does but is especially conscious about the impact your wedding as on the environment.
Oak & Honey Events created the Recycled Wedding Boutique, a flea market of sorts. Soon-to-be couples can shop new, slightly used, and vintage items to create the wedding of their dreams from newlyweds who are looking to offload their wedding items.
